About the Illustrator

Alfonza Leen

I’m a fashion designer, illustrator, and photographer working across hand-drawn and digital mediums, based in India. The Complete Bride grew out of a simple observation: every bridal outfit carries a story of region, community, and family that a photograph alone doesn’t always hold onto.

My work sits at the intersection of fashion illustration and cultural documentation, with a particular focus on Kerala’s bridal traditions across its different communities. Each piece is sketched by hand first, then finished digitally to capture texture, embroidery, and colour with precision.

Alongside bridal commissions, I run @drafted.by.alfonza, my personal illustration practice exploring pattern, botanical form, and fashion figures more broadly.
